  1. If you do not see your child, email me and I will add him/her.
  2. Please arrive 10 minutes ahead of time to check-in with Sabrina Sellew. She will either be under the shelter or in another corner with a pop- canopy. Have your swimmer goggled and ready at the end of the pool opposite the concession stand 5 minutes before his/her start time.

**If you are unable to come either of those days, please email us and we will discuss when the evaluation can take place.

  1. Regular practices will begin the following week on a schedule to be determined after evaluations. It will work on the same time frame which is currently 6-9 or 6-8 (or 7-9) on some combination of Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday. Your child will be offered two practice slots each week based on a combination of age and ability so that we can give each kid the most individualized attention while also promoting team strength. Practice lengths will vary by age and skill level. Most will be longer than the evaluation times except for the kids who get a one-hour evaluation slot.
  2. Most everything you will need to know all season will be on the website. We will have parent meetings on 5/26 at 6:45PM and 7:45PM on with Sabrina. If needed, we will repeat this on 5/27.
  3. For practices, please have your female child wear a fitted or relatively fitted one-piece suit. If a two-piece, it needs to be fitted. Please have your male child wear jammers or a regular suit tight enough around the waist to stay on during a dive. Speedos are allowed if preferred but usually only worn by the oldest male swimmers during racing.
  4. While not required, racing goggles are highly suggested. Most come with multiple nose piece sizes to fit all faces. They need to be snug. Goggles shaped like this work the best. The fewer extras, the better. These kind can also work.
  5. Swim caps are not required but we will give you one for each of your children the first week of regular practice. They are for competition. If your child wants to wear a cap for practice, we suggest buying another one or two elsewhere.
  6. Your head coaches this year are Samantha Lam (new head coach at West Johnston and parent of 3 swimmers) and Irene Hunt (returning coach and parent of 4 swimmers).
  7. Your Parent League Reps are Irene Hunt and Sabrina Sellew. Sabrina will be your go to for non-coaching related issues regarding the team and meets.
  8. Your Swim Team Committee for team management also includes Irene Jackson, Larry Lam, and Ryan Hunt who do an assortment of important behind the scenes and out front activities to keep the team running.  Our representative board members also include Chuck Gibbs and Tammy Donnelly.
  9. We are excited to have everyone!  See you next week!
