HR Meet Details
Warm-Ups are at 5:30 sharp. We have 6 lanes and will try to be efficient so that everyone is done with enough time to rest before we start. That means that I will need all of the kids to converge toward the starting end of the pool (our side) at 5:30. I have some of the older swimmers that I need to help with the meet starting at that time. We will check the swimmers in as they warm-up. Rachael will be near that end as well to check-in volunteers.
We have several combined events for this meet but it is mostly relays, the youngest (Royce), and oldest swimmers. These are shown on the heat sheet by lane numbers. It means that before the meet "begins" with the National Anthem, welcomes, etc, we need all medley relay swimmers at the queuing area as well as freestyle through age 8. All of the medley relays are only 3 events and then we have freestyle. If your child is in event 13 heat 2 it will actually be the 5th swim of the night.
Remember that your swimmer must be sent to the Flow Manager 5 heats before his/her own. The Flow Manager is responsible for feeding the kids to the coaches 3 heats before theirs. They are not to find children all over the pool. Please help us out by keeping track of your swimmers under 13 and making sure they arrive near the starting end of the pool on time.
Please remind your children about the proper way to end each race. Do not slow down, touch with the right number of hands (windmill strokes are one hand, working together are two - free/back is one, breast/fly is two), stay in the water until all the swimmers in that heat are finished (this is good manners).
Most of all, tell them to have fun!
Irene
