Using Swimtopia For Meets
We will open meet sign-ups as soon as we get the meet ready. There will also be an email. Meet sign-ups and entries will close Tuesday nights at 10PM the week of the meet. Please be sure you have declared your swimmer attending or not by then. Volunteer slots will stay open until noon the day of the meet.
Sign-up on the Sign-Up Calender, please.
You must use the email you used to register to get into your account. Reset your password if needed.
Swim Meet 101 is also available to prepare for meets. It explains Heat Sheets, arm marking (videos coming), and other meet related items. Here are quick reference arm samples. Just make sure your child, the Flow Manager, and the coaches can all read and understand it however you choose to do it.
Heat Sheets are not available for free on the mobile app as I thought so get them from the website. They should be ready the day of the meet by 2PM. We will add that link as soon as it is ready.
Practice Expectations
We will work the kids as hard as they will work. We hope to improve existing strokes and add one if we can. We also want them to enjoy coming.
We expect cooperation from the kids. Sometimes littles are tired and need a break. Sometimes the just need a minute to wiggle and refocus. The coaches know that. Sometimes the teens need to be reminded that they are present to work and not just hang out and do half the job. We will encourage them to do the majority of their chatting and visiting before practice begins. Our rec swimmers will not get stronger stopping to talk for several minutes after each lap. We hope all the swimmers will take the practice time seriously.
Communication
Any responses to these news posts will go to Rachael Hunt who is our Team Manager. She is in charge of all administration and most team communication and management. She is the best person to start with if you cannot find what you need on the website.
Irene Hunt is the SMSL Parent League Rep for the team. She deals with league issues oversees meets, and assists the coaches and manager as needed.
Irene Jackson (Cassie), Ryan Hunt, Chuck Gibbs (Everett), and Jeff Avedon (Mikaela and Kaleb) are McGee's Pool Board Members and our Board Swim Committee. They do various behind the scenes functions for the team.
Madison, Cassie, Payton, Rayna, Mikaela, and Kelcey are our coaches this year. They are responsible for preparing for and running all practices. They will also help manage the swimmers at the meet.
Requests
Please be patient as we all learn together how to use the site.
Please check to see if the information you need is on the website. If not, send a message.
Please help at meets. We have 29 families swimming with us this year and have anywhere from 15 to 25 jobs at any given meet.
Thank you!
